Warm the battery up by running the pump in SmartPTO if battery SOC is above 10%. If battery SOC is below 10%, plug the system in and wait for the cell temperature to increase above 0C (32F). As long as it’s plugged in, SmartPTO will start charging when the cell temperature rises above the threshold.

If battery temperature is below 0C (32F), the battery contactor will not close to allow charging to occur. If sufficient battery SOC remains (>10%), running the pump in SmartPTO can help to raise the battery cell temperature above the required threshold. Heating covers are also available to be purchased through Viatec for locations that regularly see temperatures significantly below freezing.
